Today we had a workshop with Claire, the careers advisor for my sector. We completed a personality test which helped us highlight our strengths and weaknesses, as well as reflected on transferrable and technical skills. My personality type came out as an INFP-T.
- The top three transferrable skills I have are adaptability, collaboration and problem solving. I learnt these skills through working at part-time jobs and old school projects. I think a close fourth would be creativity, and I hope to develop this further as I progress through my degree.
- The top three technical skills I have are being able to work with Adobe programs (such as After Effects and InDesign), managing social media accounts on various platforms and graphic/video editing and design. I am proud of these as I decided to learn these independently and I am constantly developing them.
- One new thing I have learnt about myself today is how to appreciate my skills a bit more! Although this is probably an “unexpected answer” I think this is definitely the biggest lesson I took from today. I also wasn’t fully aware of my technical skills and it was nice to learn what mine are.
