As a part of my course we attended a trip to the Design Museum on October 9th – more specifically, the Designer User Maker exhibition. I took interest in the Underground Tube Map from 1933 by Harry Beck as I have had a special interest in the London Underground for as long as I can remember, and thinking about the development of the map from 1933 all the way to modern day 2026 is something that caught my eye almost immediately. It is interesting to me to think about how the Tube was something that was seen as something so revolutionary when it was first opened in London but now that almost the whole London population uses it every single day, it has been so normalised and the beauty of it is no longer as appreciated as it was before.
